The USTTY machine I purchased at Ham Radio this year is undergoing repair works - mechanically it is now 9/10, but cosmetically....
Much as it is part of the history of the machine, that cat s**t brown has just got to go, it may have been fashionable in the 1970s, but it is just awful now!
So, I present some initial images of RAL7006

The cover for the tape reader has been painted quickly today, with the reel holder to show original colour - yes, the gloss level is a bit high, but the colour match is quite good.
Paint is a custom mixed aerosol, with full gloss Cellulose paint - this is by far the easiest paint product to use. a quick rub down with 240 grit aluminium oxide paper, then a wipe with a damp cloth - allow to dry, then spray filler primer, allow to dry, then two coats of topcoat.
A little polishing to follow, but I am happy with the results from the spray can.
WIll get the rest of the case done over the next week or two
