Hi,
I'm getting this:
fboot.exe /C1 /B38400 /Pmain.hex /Vmain.hex
COM 1 at 38400 Baud: Connected
Bootloader V2.1
Target: 1E9802 fboot.DEF
Buffer: 7680 Byte
Size available: 261120 Byte
CRC-Error
Any ideas?

Use a slower speed, e.g. 9600 or even 4800 baud

Hello Paul,
which device do you use for the update? A Windows PC?
I normaly do the updates with my Windows 10 Notebook and an USB/RS232 adapter and I never had any problems with 38400 bps.

It might be possible that Paul has got one of the China fake MAX232s installed, as his installation
might be from the time I used them.
Paul, what time stamp is on the chip? +1610?
If yes, I would recommend to swap against a new MAX232A

Hi Detlef. Thank you, I have a windows computer, fairly new model, with a built in serial port.
Henning, the MAX232 is +1510.
In the end I was able to update the Ethernet card at 2400 baud.
