Capacitor for light

I just joined the group of people who have heard the loud bang, smelled the oder, and blew a capacitor.

Mine is marked 2 microfarad 630v. Jeff's is 375v. Which is correct?

Mine was very nicely mounted with a bolt on the bottom that went through a bracket. The wires were directly soldered to the pins. Jeff's has tab connectors for the wires.

You need a capacitor with 250V~ (AC!!!) or higher. Your capacitor has 630V- (DC), which is about 400V~ (AC). Note the symbol behind the 'V'.
It can be replaced (functionally) with a modern foil capacitor with 250V~ (AC) or 400V~ (AC)
