I just became involved in the local telehistorical group and was allowed to take home a new machine to play with
I just randomly decided on one and to my surprise, when i came home and opened it up, it is a dot matrix model. I had no idea such models even exsisted! I have a lot to learn about these to figure out what the different boards to and how it all works together!

I am having a hard time to find any information at all on these, so maybe someone here could fill me in on what i really have here. I guess it would be a good idea to change the usual T1000 capacitors before i give her any power but any pointers and suggestions is welcome!

Made in Finland even! And some pictures of the cards. Maybe it might be interesting . Seems most ICs are dated 80 and 81
Main board has this little additional board at the top left corner that seems like an afterthought. I found that curious The what i assume to be a memory board, that lives under the keyboard, had this battery(?) plugged into it. It is naturally dead. It has no markings other than 091. What could the specs for this be?

It's a very rare early version under serial number 20000.
It's technically totally different from later versions with serial numbers higher 20000 which are more common.
But capacitors are generally no problems at T1000S machines.
First you have to renew the memory battery.
Then new initialization has to be done.

I will keep to just cleaning it for now until i decide on the capacitors. It has some of those white powdery crystals a few metal parts that takes some time to clean off. Otherwise it seems to be in really nice condition. 1383h on the counter.
I am just hesitant to bring it up on power until i am sure a possible bad capacitor will not break anything. Do you think it would be safe? I seem to recall that tantalum caps tend to fail as a short and that seems a little scary!
Maybe you know where i could get my hands on a service manual for this? Or even just a schematic where i could find out the battery voltage?

Next time i go back to the telehistorical group i will check the other machines too, maybe they have other rare ones. I know they have at least 7 T100 printers too. Maybe one day i can give one of them a home as well
