Hello fellow TELEX machine Owner/Operators:

I have been restoring a Teletype Model 15 for the last months.
This model was made in 1964 (Motor and Capacitor dates).
It was last used in the 1970s (Paper Roll date) I think.
These are heavy machines and I weighed mine:
Model 15 TELETYPE (No Paper/Ribbon)
Part Weight (kg) Weight (Pounds)

Keyboard 6.50(kg) 14.33(Pounds)
Base Unit 14.05(kg) 30.97(Pounds)
Motor 7.00(kg) 15.43(Pounds)
Printer unit 12.25(kg) 27.01(Pounds)
Key Basket 2.40(kg) 5.29(Pounds)
Cover 12.35(kg) 27.23(Pounds)
Total 54.55(kg) 120.26(Pounds)

The printing could be better so there is more work to do.

Hi Bambi,

thanks for your effort and posting the weight of all components. In total a pretty heavy machine. Quite impressive! The print is not too bad and I like the purple ribbon.

Hello Wolfgang:
Thank you for your message.
The machine is so heavy I have to move it in parts. 1930s design, mine made in 1964.
The ink ribbon is good as you say, but it is expensive AU$30 each [16.90€].
They are available from <here> in the UK.
I now have the TT-15 connected to I-TELEX via the RS-232C port and I have successfully called and received TELEX messages.
