Te Ka De FS200 - Ink Ribbon Question

Hi All,

My FS200 has a most annoying "feature".

It gets through ribbons at an amazing rate, and once the ribbon is at end of travel, instead of stopping what it is doing, it decides to carry on overtyping the last character.

I wonder if the ribbon transport should auto reverse to keep cycling through the ribbon again and again?

Or, is there a setting I do not know about that can slow down the usage?

Is there a longer ribbon available - I think the ones I am using from eBay are much happier on a typewriter.

Cheers
Sean

It should auto reverse once a spool is empty.

Hi Sean,

most ribbons today have a length of 10 Meters, I remember, that the old ribbons (30 yrs ago) had mostly 20 or 25 meters.

But there are also ribbons today on the market with only 6 meter or so, maybe you have such a short ribbon in use ?

The lenght of the ribbon doesn't matter. It switches by tension of the ribbon at a lever mostly.
Unfotunately I am not to familar with the FS200.

Ah, thanks everyone, so perhaps there is a fault then. The ribbon direction does not switch at all.

The ribbon in question is 10M, so at least I am getting a normal (for these days) ribbon.

Just means I have a fault to find.

Great news!
