Bringing up a T1000S

To allow dialling other i-Telex (and piTelex) users, the hostnames of the subscriber servers must be specified (provided that they are not already defined in the default ("factory") configuration.

They are hardcoded in the ITelex module, so no need to configure these. Dialing is "direct", i.e no "0" or "Amtskennziffer" like on original I-Telex is required.

PLEASE LEAVE THE ENTRY "number:" in the i-Telex Section in telex.json alone, i.e. set to 0 unless you agree something else with Fred, this is for the automatic IP update on the subscriber servers and will cause errors / malfunction on the subscriber servers if not properly set up

Volker, sorry for the troubles - i momentarly specified the number in telex.json - but after seeing the error messages in the console, i reverted back the configuration to "0"
I had a connection in the late afternoon with Fred, and verified that everything is working fine.

I'm not sure if it's available, but does anybody has a user manual for the Siemens T1000S?
I'm struggling with the following:
- Writing a message in local mode and storing to the memory is working fine
- Writing a message on the fly in online mode is also working fine

But composing a message, and then sending the very same message after the dialing a number and making a connection is not working for me I tried to figure it out from the symbols, but I had no luck. I'm pretty sure that it's straightforward, but without the manual I think I'm lost.
I suspect that the device has other capabilities like address book, or list of stored messages, so to live up the full potential a manual would be very nice.

We have a restricted area here in the forum with user manuals, but access is restricted to people who have been around here for a while and applied for access. Alex is the one in charge of maintaining that, drop him a line, maybe viewing your history he grants you access.

(Why restricted access? - In the past these forum categories were open. Many people here have dedicated a lot of time to collect, scan and make these documents available, and "leachers" just downloaded them and then made them available - sometimes for payment on other sites, thus cannibalizing the effort made by people in this forum, something they didn't want to tolerate any longer.)

That said, maybe ask Fred if he can PM you the relevant manuals. I don't consider myself senior enough on the forum to take that decision, even if I do have access to the documentation section, but you seem one of the "good guys" to me, at first glance .

Another question on your Siemens T1000S. I have one with the (I think) same line card, and in the end it seems you have single current, even if Henning initially stated the card looked very much like Double Current. Could you please send me a picture of your card, specially of the wire "bridges" placed in the IC-Sockets on the card.

My T1000S is away for power supply repair, but I hope to get it back soon and be able to operate this beautiful, powerful, and so silent machine.

Happy new year everyone!
Today I tried to reverse engineer how to write to the magnetic disk. I was unsuccessful.
It works okay for the internal memory - but not for the disk. For that I start local mode and press the second button from top on the last colum (arrow pointing to a rectangle)
I can edit existing saved files from the disk, by first loading them using the first button from the last column, specifying memory location(like 4/035) and edit them and save them. But cannot create a new file. Does anybody have information on how to do this?

You create a new file, when you press the button withe the symbol
for the disk, wich is the third button from the top.

That was my assumption, but nothing happens if I press that button. The led on it does not illuminate, no sound from the disk drive and in the screen the device is not switching to editing mode.

Have you put a original Siemens Disk in the Drive?

yes, and if I open and edit a file, it is capable saving it back with the modified content.
