Restoring another T1000
I recently bought a T1000 being sold as "broken" on the local auction site.
It was marked as "Regie T& T"
After inspecting it it seems to not have any big problems in the mechanics or core electronics: local mode works,
as does the tape punch and reader.
There was a lot of white crystalline fluff on all black hard plastic parts. It seemed to dissolve in water, so this was
not a big problem, I hope it's not toxic or anything
The main electronics board (GE) seems to be a variant of the GE2 board I saw in the service schematics, however, the
big capacitors seem to be elkos not tantalums.
Here's a photo of the GE board.
(I did replace some of the old elko's with new ones as the telex would seem to "reset" as soon as it tried to print a character,
I measured 2vpp spikes on the 12V line when that happened)
However, I have not had any luck getting the line interface working. It seems to be a variant that only uses one pair,
besides this I don't know much yet.

Re: Restoring another T1000
Here's an image of the line modules (STT, etc):
and one of the weird crystals:
If anyone knows what kind of line this interfaced to, and what the weird crystals/powder might be, please let me know.
(The crystals are not battery/capacitor acid as they appear only on black plastic and all the PCBs seem fine.)

Re: Restoring another T1000
Hi, it looks to be in quite good condition from the pictures you have uploaded - please, upload many more - Good quality as found pictures are always helpful for machines that have had less careful repairs in the past
Cheers

Re: Restoring another T1000
Hello Theodore,
I try to give you the answer to the STT/LAT, look like the same PCB that I have in my T1000Z.
It is the interface for a connect to the "Linenstrom" of a current loop source driven rtty-demodulator e.g. the NZ47 (R&S) or FSE401(Siemens).
Some radio-amateure rtty decoder have this current loop source, too.
The LAT can driven 2-wire, single-current or 4-wire, with 60V - 40mA.
Connector on your T1000 for this is the same ADo8 (8 pin) that the FS use in the FS-PBX, but the pinout need a minor modification for the current-loop of the LAT.
Take a look on the WEB-Side of DF3OE - he is also in this forum..

I hope this litte info is helpful to start in the deep of current-loop.

Aber auch dort ist man nicht in der Lage das Papier korrekt zu führen...wjack hat geschrieben: ↑So 14. Feb 2021, 11:21 Another nice page from TUM - Linienstrom..

Hey Pb1x
Whats new with your current-loop connecting on the LAT?
Does you need further step?
