Hello all
Apologies for posting in English, i hope the language selection button fixes that!
I just wanted to post an update as I have removed the Tekade from 37210 and swapped in the newly recommissioned T68 (which has very low hours!) and is running sweetly despite having a slightly damaged 'flag' in the online button interlocking. It doesn't currently have a functioning 'Answerback 'unit so it won't acknowledge you if you try to dial it but it is there and working. The answerback unit will be reviewed in the new year to see what it needs.
Apparently it is an ex Bundespost machine but i don't have any more information on it than that. Is there a way of looking up the age of a T68 by serial number?
Picture shows the machine part way through the light recommissioning after some cleaning up had taken place externally.
The Tekade will be connected again when i have resolved its FSG problem (Tx not working but Rx does) and i have chosen a couple of new numbers for the other two card channels.
Looking forward to hearing the T68 firing up with some incoming messages! (not too long though, i have no spare paper spools! )

Hi John,
The serial number is build as follows: digit letter digit digit digit digit
Example: 8L6726 (this the SN of my T68D)
The first digit (8) encodes the Siemens plant, 8=Munich
The letter (L) encodes the year of manufacture L=1956
The four digits are the actual serial/production number, 6726 in case of the example
Production year encoding:
K
1905
1930
1955
1980
L
1906
1931
1956
1981
... and so forth (comment: I found also a source that says L=1955 !?!?)
All the best
Mark

The T68D is quite bit of kit. Not a single part looks cheap or compromised and the design is very compact but still easily serviceable.
I wish you success with the answerback and the other minor defects. Best regards Mark
